CHRISTMAS EVE DREAM

WE got hit with a nasty cold wave here in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas Thursday night. This Chrustmas Eve WE woke up from a dream WE were watching s movie about a German serial killer on the run in America. He is from a wealthy family. Money is no issue. His M.O. in America....killing roommates hence the film's title "Der Roommate". He is a suspect in Germany. It stars NATALIE PORTMAN as a Mexican-Americsn Private Investigator named MARINA NATALIA HUGHES. She is of farmworker stock. A tomboy country girl with a cat named Goyo short for Gregorio. She drinks Mexican chocolate and loves Molletes...yellow ones. Folks call them conchas. Not her. Her character is haunted by the unsolved murder of her P.I. mentor. She's hired track down the serial killer by an anonymous fan. She's made a name for herself hunting down serial killers. She's quiet and a determined professional. Ultimately, she prevails. Ireland's SODA BLONDE contributes a song entitled "Pure Love" which wins a Grammy. Ms. Portman wins an Academy Award for Best Actress and the movie wins one too. What a dream!
